Research says that in India 55% of women are anaemic and 35% of children are malnourished, anaemic mother will give birth to a malnourished child who is not ready for better health, better education and better future. Keeping this objective in mind, Swabhimaan has embarked a journey to create awareness and help the community understand the importance of nourishment via handholding and capacity building of government agencies for women and child development through convergence methods and door-to-door awareness and survey. We have a team of 15 personnel who are working for this initiative and it is very well received by the ICDS authorities, local community leaders and on the whole by the families. This is a 2-year project to help reduce malnourishment by 3% per year.
